How do I start talking to her?

So iam a Med School Student. She is also in Med School but in a different department (BDS). I recently got migrated to another med school and now i really want to talk to her. I mean i never cared before but now i want to know her better , to talk to her, we never talked before and she probably doesn't even know me. She has 0 posts on Instagram. What should i do'? Approach her through her friend maybe or would that be weird?

yeah another 2 years and we will be 15 hours busy. Just that i have never been in a relationship before. can't invite her to dinner as she doesn't even know me. I mean we have never even said hi to each other before. Would be really awkward if i just ask her on a date all of a sudden
