The absolute WORST time to be dating is in middle school. Guys mature later then girls, so most of them have the emotional IQ of a rock and the emphatic abilities of President Trump. In other words if you tried to tell them a problem you are having with your friends or your parents, they will ether look at you funny or say something stupid and hurtful.

Plus what can you two really do? You can't drive anywhere or buy anything without your parents assistance. God forbid you have sex or exchange nudes because you both can be busted for statutory rape, possessing and distributing child porn. Yes even in the case of you both being similar ages.

Honestly middle school is the best time to figure out the answer to these questions: What do you like to do and what are you good at? What makes a good friend and are you a good friend? What are you fundamental beliefs about the world around you? How do you determine what is right and wrong? Will you stand up against your friends if they are bullying someone? (No I don't mean "tell an adult" - I mean literally stand between your friends and their intended victim).

That's all I can think of at the moment. But seriously save the dating for Jr high or high school.
