Literally, I am a 23 year old woman who has never kissed anybody. And I'm terrified because I don't even know how it works. Where the hell do your lips go when you kiss, like, aren't you going to hit your teeth together? I don't get it. How do you avoid it from being awkward? And then french kissing... is that actually attractive or gross and how the hell does that work either? I don't watch movies. I have no exposure to what a kiss is. All I do is kiss my posters of rock stars. It's not exactly the same thing, man.
+1 yIt's not really complicated. When you both feel strongly enough about each other to kiss, you kiss. You can ask him if you may kiss him. Tou just put your lips to your partner's lips. Or their neck or cheek or wherever your kissing. When you're ready, you can start opening your mouth. If he doesn't want that he'll let you know. Sometimes your teeth might bump but if you're being slow, like a good kiss is, it shouldn't hurt, it's just a bit funny and you can giggle at it. Turn your head so your teeth don't bump. Kissing with tongue is gross when you think about it but feels so good. You just gently slide your tongue into his mouth. Then you let him have a turn to do it. Then you can gradually start exploring his mouth with your tongue, then let him explore yours. It's weird but your basically gently licking inside each other's mouth.
There's other things you can do, too, like kissing and softly nibbling his earlobe and neck. You can put your lips around his lower lip and gently tug it. Even very gently let your teeth touch his lip.
Your hands are also really important, although it tends to come naturally. You can wrap your arms around his neck, or grab the back of his head and pull him in. You can caress his hair, his neck, his arms, his chest (even his legs and thighs, if you want to be more intimate). And guide his hands where you'd like him to caress you, if he's not already doing so. If you're serious with this guy and your both comfortable with getting really passionate, you can wrap your legs around his waist (if you're both standing, make sure he can hold you up if you do this). If you're comfortable with him touching your butt, embracing him like that makes it really easy and natural for him to hold your butt in his hands. If you want to be more intimate, you can ask him to touch your breasts. Taking off his shirt and him taking off yours (or your dress if your wearing a dress) of course will make it more intimate. And if you're both comfortable with it, he can help you take your bra off.
Know what you're comfortable with and what he's comfortable with, so you can enjoy being affectionate with each other without going further than each of you wants to. Think about what you'd be comfortable doing and at what stage in a relationship. Personally, due to my convictions I believe it's best to save full nudity (that is, exposing or touching bare private parts) and sex (including oral, butt, hands, etc.) until marriage. But think about your convictions.
Final thought: You can search on YouTube for kissing scenes from movies to learn some things. Just keep in mind that films are more dramatic than real life.

This made me really cry. I'm still single, I just asked the question because I was curious. I wish I could experience even just the most basic of kisses. That would be very emotional for me, let alone all of this. I guess the answer is jsut to go for it and be comfortable with each other, don't think about it just feel it. Thanks for the detailed answer and making me cry.

I didn't want to make you cry, oh dear! Yeah, you just go for it, it happens very naturally.
Don't give up! There's nothing wrong with being single, but if you want someone keep looking. Try and meet people through whatever means and medium you can.

Just pucker up your lips and try to kiss lip to lip. That's how simple it is.
Only when you get into a relationship that kissing expands to other areas of you/your partners body. For French kissing it's requires a bit more effort. Aside from a good clean mouth and hygiene you have to tilt your head a bit to make your kiss, and expect that it would be quite wet as you will be locking (and playing) with each others tongues and mouths.
Kissing is great! The most awesome kiss I've ever had was when I kissed my date at the London Eye carousel tourist attraction. Just as it reached the top of the wheel we French kissed each other. It was awesome and wonderful feeling (and memory)!

I'm just so worried about it being awkward. I want to one day bravely ask my favorite singer if I could kiss him on the lips. He's married but just in a friendly manner. And he knows me pretty well as his biggest fan, I've even been in his house before. So we're not like strangers. But I want to kiss him one day and I'm just so scared of fucking it up especially because I obviously have major feels for him and it's my first kiss. He's also a foot taller than me lol...

Just ask him! And a you need to do is pucker your lips and place them on his.
+1 yI’d practice on your friend and or your hand. It’s like this, you put their bottom lip between your lips and kiss them. If you want it to be sexy be close to them. If you want it to be friendly make it quick.

Wait, so a few questions.
Kissing their bottom lip sounds simple enough, except what are they kissing if you are kissing their bottom lip? Surely you both can be kissing each other's bottom lips, so are they kissing a top lip? If so, my top lip is almost non-existent so that would be weird AF.
Also what if you both like, go for the same lip? I mean isn't that awkward and how do you avoid that? It's not like people plan out how they're going to kiss each other LOL - +1 y
Surely you both CAN'T be kissing each other's bottom lips *
- +1 y
Yeah, you can kiss their top lip but it’s harder to get a hold of. You just touch lips and then sort of find a good spot. First kisses are definitely awkward.
- +1 y
Well that doesn't help my anxiety at all. Good thing I'm still single so I won't have to kiss anyone any time soon lol :/
- +1 y
Yeah, being single is so fun!
+1 yhoney, wait for the right guy.. it will come naturally.
Or seek out a girlfriend you trust and ask her to show you how to kiss.

Kissing and holding hand for the first time with someone new is scary. It's a big risk. I'm sure you're imagining rejection, not knowing if your advance is welcome. Chances are, if you're close enough to someone both physically and mentally to want to try, they're probably having similar feelings.
Try this... hold hands before kissing. Just touch their hand. That way, you can save face if the contact isn't welcome, apologizing for the accident. If they don't recoil, prolong that touch. Work your way towards actually holding hands.
If you get far enough to hold hands. A kiss is guaranteed. Start slow. Imagine savoring soft serve ice cream on a cool autumn day. As passions heat up, you may touch teeth. No big deal. French kissing will happen naturally when you and your partner literally want more of each other.
Have fun. Post an update (or dm) how it goes. I'd love to know...

Hey man I've been single my whole life. Still am. It'd be nice to even hold hands with a dude but none of what you say will likely ever happen. I just asked the question because I'm genuinely curious (and I'm writing a romance story lol)
Thanks for all the details though. I'm generally good at reading people. I just didn't know how kissing literally worked.
+1 yTilt ur head a little bit and pout ur lips and kiss ur partner

My instincts are to shy away and cry, man
Opinion Owner+1 yMy instincts are to pull you close and hold you tight. Though if you are crying I would probably transition to a comforting hug.

That's exactly what I need. But all this is hypothetical anyways. I've been single my whole life. So kissing is as scary as holding someone's hand. All intimacy freaks me out because it's unknown territory, but I want it.
Opinion Owner+1 yI am just about the same. I have only had one girlfriend and we only kissed the one time.
- +1 y
Well at least you did it. I have very high standards so nobody gets close to me, and it makes me so upset because I don't know how to lower them.
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat are your standards?

- He must be patient with everyone: children, animals, women, other men, but specifically those with health conditions has I have a mood disorder, personality disorder, and a painful disease. I don't want him to only be patient with me. I want to see he is a good man with everyone. If he is only patient with me and nobody else than that shows he truly isn't very patient at all.
- Someone who digs the same music as me and understands the rock and roll music culture/traveling I love. Preferably he is a musician himself. I'm trying to make a career in arts, traveling and music. He doesn't have to understand what I do but as long as he supports and helps me.
- Someone who is way older than me. I'm attracted to men in their 40s/50s. I have my reasons; it has nothing to do with sugar daddies. Those are ridiculous.
- Someone who will never deny my affection and romance, and gladly accepts it all. I love to give gifts, make deep love, take people out, touch them and tell them extremely sweet things, I really practice love in all its forms and I'm sort of attracted to people who love attention because of this. I love to give so much affection to someone, that's what makes me happy. I'm like this with all my friends. And if they feel better after my constant praising then they can give me some love back after I "fueled" them up. I'm quite attracted to Leos because of this. Many guys have said I am "too much" with all my constant affection. I want someone who CRAVES it.
- Someone who has no kids and doesn't plan on having anyone. Someone who doesn't smoke anything of any kinds. Someone who preferably does not drink but if he does than just occasionally. Someone who is open-minded about religion and is considerate of all beliefs.
Opinion Owner+1 yI am not far off from this; so surely there is a guy like this out there waiting for you.
- +1 y
Most of those standards are pretty basic, in my opinion. You're not unreasonable. Wanting someone with similar interests isn't unreasonable. Your preference for older men is probably the most difficult one. A good man that old will likely be uncomfortable dating a woman young enough to be his daughter. But, if that's important enough for you that you'll pass up on younger men, then stick to that preference.
- +1 y
@CountryWanderer Sorry for my late response, I missed it. I have a new question on my page asking about how I can meet older men and attract them more if you want to check that out. It's really the main thing that's holding me back and keeping me single.
