What really defines a man to be a man?

For me it's somehow that is not afraid to show his emotions. Someone who is willing and ready to step up whenever something happens. He not only offers loyalty but he's there to be not only my supporter but my shoulder to cry on. He's a protector and he's a fighter. He's someone that I can count on and rely on. Someone who I know will always be there. Someone I know that will not only be a wonderful husband and lover but also terrific father in the near future. He's loving, he's sweet, he's kind, he's generous, and he sees me as his equal.

to me is not about gender, and it is not about gender because I've seen many examples of this in my life and with people close to me

Someone who knows his limits, is not afraid to ask his woman for help, is there when she needs it, shows appreciation, supports her, sees her as equal, is willing to admit when he screwed up, respects people around him, is empathetic, and willing to learn and compromise.

Honestly not that different from what a woman should also be nowadays, with all the hype around equality.

Objectively, a human male who is past puberty. Any other definition is subjective, and those definitions often, maybe usually, include traits that are part of serving the one giving the definition.
