If a guy likes a girl's pictures, does it mean he would jump at the opportunity?

I've got a friend, who's boyfriend is from her hometown. Another girl in my group keeps flirting with the first friend's boyfriend. And she added the boyfriend on instagram and it's clear she wants him.

The boyfriend knows this girl is trying to steal him from his girlfriend, but he keeps liking her posts on instagram, which I think shows interest. Does a guy liking another girl's pictures mean he's interested in that other girl?

Not necessarily, but possibly. Let's say there's a 50/50 chance of him "seizing the opportunity". Of course it depends on whether or not he likes his current girlfriend and is the other girl really that attractive to him. It could mean nothing but pushing a like icon after all. It might instead show compassion and sympathy for he doesn't want to break her heart / making her feel sad since he won't dump his current girlfriend.
