How do I get over a friend who still likes me but now has a girlfriend because I said no to him a while ago?

He liked me, I didn't like him back a few years ago but now I like him, he made me think he was single and only told me he was with someone when pressed. He still wants to meet up for lunch, dinner etc but it's not the same now I know he's with someone. It won't go anywhere obviously, I still like him but know I need to back off and stop wasting my time pining over him. Any tips?

Meet someone else. It's not fair to you, him or his girlfriend to have any relationship with him at all. Move on.

I realised the obstacles were not as great as I thought they were and I should have spoken to him about it properly instead of rejecting him outright. Now I've got to know him as a friend, I've realised we are both attracted to each other and it could have worked.

The girl who he is with accepted him first.
Don’t break her heart.
Men are weak, we cheat easily or even break up.
Why ruin someone’s life because you made a mistake!

I agree - I don't want to disrespect their relationship. She was wise enough to accept him, I'm the fool for letting him go. He wouldn't cheat though, he's not the type.
