22yr Guy seeing a 16yr girl?

A very close friend of mine has been working with this girl, and he says they get along really well. He likes her and wants to start hanging out with her more. He’s a great guy, he’d never pressure anyone into doing anything but I feel so extremely uncomfortable with her age and I’m honestly so worried. I’ve tried talking him out of it but today he basically said he’s gonna see her anyway and apparently not do anything sexual. Opinions?

I think that's a normal reaction. I rejected a girl who was into me when she was 17 and I was 21 because I felt like I was too old for her. I couldn't imagine her parents being ok with that. We weren't having sex either. But we all know what the assumption is. Now I didn't have exploitative motives. But that doesn't mean this guy doesn't. Do you know if he dates other girls closer to his age? Because that may be your sign. I worked with a woman who met her eventual husband at 26 and she was 16. He turned out to be pedophile. If course she didn't realize that till they'd had 3 kids together. Even though I'm sure all the signs were there and she didn't see any of them. Tell your friend to be careful! And that if he really likes her, then he'll still like her at 18. It's OK to say "no" due there age difference.

It’s purely sexual what he’s doing. I find men go for younger women because no one wants them within their peer group, or they like how innocent young girls are and how easy they are to control.
Definitely a red flag 🚩

Yeah. Some older people are just creepy and seek out younger, naive and inexperienced people. I've been there too. It does mess you up for sure.

Very creepy! I’ve been that younger talking to older guys, it’s not good at ALL! Try maybe talking to her, there’s no reason for a 22yr to talk to a 16yr.
