How long should we go out before entering relationship?

I like one guy for a long time. We became friends six months ago. Recently he asked me out and we went for a first time. We kissed few times before the date. He obviously likes me too. How long should we see each other like casually before getting into relatioship?

As it relates to the Relationship to Marriage dynamic, all we have are a world full of fallen Relationships advising others on “How To Do It Rightly”. I have steps and criteria as it relates from moving from dating to exclusive relationship. I do not wish to bore you, however, it takes me 5-6 months to arrive at exclusive dating relationship.

You got it all wrong. It's not about time!!! It's about do both people want the same thing and do they have the characteristics to last long. Stop relying on your feelings (dopamine) and try figuring out exactly what they want out of all of this. Then figure out what habitual characteristics lead to a lastingly relationship. If you don't have those then get them. If he doesn't have those then he needs a open mind or to hit the road.

You were given SO MUCH BAD ADVICE. Listen to my advice and think... Does his advice make logical sense? And you'll come to the conclusion it does.

My opinion, the talking phase is for finding out if their values and what they say they want out of life is compatible with your values and what you want. If that checks out, then the relationship phase is for making sure their life and actions line up with what they said. So the answer to the question is, I would not enter a relationship until I've gotten a good answer to every important question I have.

I usually get to know someone in person or online/by call/text/vid for anywhere between 1-6 months (on average 3 months). Just depends on if we’re having deep conversations daily or making smalltalk in passing. So by time we go out, all i need is one date and one kiss to know if i want to become official.

If you already knew him for 6 months and you went out and you already kissed, I think it is safe to say that you are in a relationship already. Now if you want to make it official, than you have to speak to him and ask him in a not so straight way if he wants to make whatever date to be an official date when you officially became couples.

honestly, i feel like i skipped the whole dating part with my partner. we just knew we liked each other and then became official. this was years and years ago.

since you already know him, why bother dating him? it'll likely jump into being in a relationship.

dating is more for people who don't really know the person yet.

If you want to be committed to each other for a propose you can start whenever.

If you want to be commuted to your feelings you really dont need to start at all, those feelings will bind you until such time that your union no longer serves your ends.
