Is being single better than settling?

Let's you already know you'll never attract a certain level (you're limited yourself), continue getting hit on by unattractive people or the specific race you prefer doesn't like you.. but you don't like none of them.

Is it better being single than setting if you'll never like them nor love them?

By settling, you're just doing it because you couldn't get what you want and you'll likely make the person miserable. You'll never going to love them anyways... that person was simply your last resort.

Plus you don't want someone that reminds you of yourself.

I don't know if I'd call it settling per se, but I gave a girl a chance who I really enjoyed hanging out with, but she wasn't my preference at the time. (I was more into other girls)

Anyway, she ended becoming my best friend in the whole world and the love of my life. We even bought a house together. The only reason I'm not with her anymore is because she passed away, but even so, I don't want anyone else.

She just got more and more beautiful and precious to me every day.
She wasn't my "type" in the beginning, but she became the most beautiful girl in the world in my eyes

I have been single for 10 years this year. In my opinion, yes, being single is better, but inly for one reason. You will be avilable when the right comes along, if they come along. But here is the critical point, YOU HAVE TO LIKE BEING SINGLE. It is the independence that will attract someone, if you are lonely, miserable and have yourself setrled, single you shall remain.
