Do you think chances decline drastically when you put on a dating app that you prefer to date someone who does not own pets?

Why does that need to be so specifically noted on your profile? Usually men with pets posts pics with them and if they don’t, you can always ask about it once you’re initially messaging. It’s odd to state it on your profile.

I wanted to state it earlybto avoid wasting their time. It hurts connecting with someone and then having the pet talk. I mean I still have plenty of pet men liking my profile but I don’t understand why? I get that the pet isn’t going anywhere

If worrying about wasting someone’s time is your biggest qualm then you probably shouldn’t be trying to date at all lol no offense. There will always be the potential for something not to work out, especially on a dating app where it’s like roulette and just because you match doesn’t mean the convo will even last an hour. You don’t have to delve deeply into conversation and invest so deeply that you could get hurt just to get to a point where you can ask if they have a pet lol that can be one of the first things you mention. You can do what you want ultimately I just think it looks weird to have it on your profile. You could totally ask in the dm. “How’s you’re day going? by the way it’s a random question but do you have any pets?”. Easy.

That just sounds silly but ok
