He's doing all he can to let a girl know "he's there for her and cares about her."

My now husband used to say things like "I like you so much... I really care about you, like a lot... If there's ever something I'm doing wrong, please tell me and I'll change my behavior because I care about you."

Any guy that's on the fence about a girl usually won't "simp" like that, mostly because he's more worried about looking like a simp than doing everything he can to reassure and provide care to his partner.
