Hell no that isn't weird at all. That would be sweet of him to do that for me. I would not mind at all and think he is trying to do nice things for me. Huge bonus if he's really good and can make my favorites. I also wouldn't mind if he wanted to cook together. That would be fun and honestly a good way to catch up. When a guy does anything to show he cares it is a positive thing and not weird at all.
