How much does money matter?

The median yearly income in the USA is about $45,000 to $50,000. You can expect a small home and a relatively comfortable life, but not a lot of travel or luxury items. Is that enough, or would you want more from a potential spouse?

This is a 2 part answer because you can't simply answer this question. First you have to look at society. Most of society is fake, insincere and mostly about appearance. So in that respect money is VERY important. But if you you're with some who truly loves and cares about you, respects you, wants the best for you, etc. Then money isn't much of a factor at all.

So I guess the answer to this question is "who are you talking about"?

Money is of course necessary, but it's far from everything I want. I wouldn't bother with a guy who makes a lot of money but is boring. If it's a nice guy and it works otherwise, then someone who doesn't have that much, can still a good match to me.

It depends on where you live. It means a lot here because the average house price is a million dollars. Without a good wage, you have no hope.
