Its been a week now after we broke up, yesterday my ex texted my sister "Looks like it's over between me and your brother - Not for my want of trying to make it work. Did all could do. Really is a shame because I loved him very much. l'm not sure how we are going to be able to stay in touch or meet up now but I won't remove you. Just hurt extremely upset by it all but Idid my best. Look after him and i hope he finds happiness. l'll saY my goodbyes for now"

Before she messaged my sister she sent me a nasty text saying I need therapy... before that she said have a nice life... like what the hell

What you need to do now is learn from this. And heeding her advice for therapy sounds like a good call, frankly.

If your relationship with your sister is good, and you trust her, you might be ok to ask if she'd help you reflect on the relationship. But you should do a lot of that on your own, first.

Your ex will move on. Whenever that happens doesn't matter to you. But she's already over you. Sounds like she was over you already, tbh, and the breakup was inevitable.

Wow, you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
She obviously is playing a double game, playing the victim to his sister and trying to have the high ground with him saying he got to go to therapy, being harsh and stuff.
She obviously isn't very sane. But it works well in our society, because people will always go to girls to support them, while guys are left alone without a good support.

I mean, ngl, she defs is fishing for drama with the sister. But it's also not unheard of to hold onto family of exes if you're good friends with them.

Therapy is a valid comment - neither of us know their relationship. He may have very seriously shown he needs therapy. 80%+ of people have mental illness, and left untreated it can disrupt his life. It's up to him if she's right or not, but it isn't harsh to say that to someone.

She sounds perfectly sane to me. She broke up, said her piece, did what she needed to attempt to keep a friendship with the sister, and moved on.

It doesn't sound to me like she's over you at all. I think she's hurt by it. It sounds like she gave up, which is not the same thing.

On the other hand, sometimes people are over their SO before they break up. They either gave up, lost interest, or for whatever reason it wasn't worth continuing.

Is she the one who called it off? Or was it you?

Birdy you are thirty-one you should know better than this... If course he is not over you yet know matter what he is doing or claiming. The grieving process exists and carries on when we separate from someone we wanted to or are sad to lose, and it takes much longer than a week.

you could try writing a letter, a letter of closure that conveys all your feelings good and bad to get it out of your system. give her the letter and maybe she will send one also
