Here are some signs that a relationship is likely just platonic:
- No physical affection like hugging, holding hands, kissing etc. Just friendly handshakes or high fives.
- They act the same around you as they do other friends. No special treatment or flirting.
- They're comfortable talking about or setting each other up with other people.
- When you hang out one-on-one, other friends are usually around too or you're in group settings. Alone time is rare.
- Conversation is just typical friend stuff - school, work, hobbies. Doesn't get deep or personal.
- They don't go out of their way to look good when you're around or seem to care about impressing you.
- No long, meaningful eye contact or flirty body language like touching arms when laughing.
- Introduce each other as "my friend" to other people, not "my [girlfriend/boyfriend]".
- If you ask them out, they politely turn you down but want to stay pals.
If most those boxes are checked you're prob just homies, sadly. But better to be sure before catching feels!
If the conversations never step out of friendliness then one can only assume it's a friend zone thing
