Different opinions on politics?

What do you guys do about your partner having different views on issues in politics than you? My man has different opinions on abortion than I do and I'm not sure how to feel about it?

Some politics are just politics.
Some politics are based in morality.
If you recognize that there are differences it’s easier to compartmentalize and separate them.


You must simply ask yourself, are the ideas and opinions which reside in a persons mind - even if those thoughts will likely never manifest themselves into actual actions or conduct - say enough about that person that it will impact your ability to love, trust, and respect them?


My wife was far more “left” when we met than she is now. Part of this was probably me sharing my experiences and perspectives in life and also some of it came from being more open to facts over feelings. Our relationship has not changed one single bit as a result of differing or similar political beliefs. It almost never comes up.

I think it's weird that abortion is political. That's like if some one said we should be allowed to force poor people to donate their organs to rich people and instead of people laughing at them they called it "political."

I don't date people who have significantly different values than me. I especially don't date people who don't believe in bodily autonomy like I do.

Every time I told him woman were getting turned away from hospitals bc they were pregnant in states that are for abortion he's like it's bc they are private... I'm like it shouldn't matter or be happening and he's like it's not going to happen to you

People are allowed to have their own personal choice, as soon as the politics becomes serious, becomes name calling and abusive, then it’s time to call it a day. Anyone who is too political is a red flag and invariably an arsehole.
