Have you ever started a relationship with a coworker? Any advice?

I had been catching on before that because I had noticed his eyes lingering on my lips and body frequently. I am attracted to him too but I am cautious about starting anything with a Co worker when I am planning to be at my work place for a long time.. Aby advice?

I have two friends who started dealing with men at work.
One worked at a warehouse for 1 year and in that time she started something with a coworker. Some other girls got jealous and teamed up to get her fired. The guy didn’t step in because he was cool with those girls and didn’t want to look bad to other coworkers. The job was allowed to terminate her without reason as per her contract, no investigation was done or anything despite her emailing the higher ups.


My second friend started up with her manager and word got out about that despite them trying to sneak around, and he dumped her. Neither of them got in trouble but things were so awkward for her that she quit.


Moral of these stories — it’s rarely ever, next to never, a good idea and having witnessed the outcomes, wouldn’t recommend it.

Yes, but it was a totally different context than what you are talking about. Everyone at the place I worked wanted it to succeed, and I ended up married to the man. :)

This guy just wants a fling. Tell him no. If he persists, report him to HR for harassment. If you want this to be your job for a long time, stay professional and don't fall for it.

I think you should take account some factors, including these:
- are relationships frowned upon at your workplace?
- are you mature and willing enough to separate work life and personal life, if this blows up, can you still work together. If you had previous relationships, could you work with your exes?
- is this gonna be a serious relationship or a friends with benefits type of thing? A serious relationship is probably gonna be more emotional.
- how good are you at communicating?

His interest in you seems mainly sexual, from the way you describe it. It sounds like you two would be having a fling, not starting a relationship.

So you're probably better off not getting involved with this guy.

No but be careful! This guy only wants you for sex. He does not want a real relationship. I can tell by the fact that he’s staring at your body and by the fact that he outright admitted to you that he fantasizes about you. I would stay far away from him. But if a sexual relationship is all you want, then just be discreet. My mom always told me that people can get fired for stuff like that.
