He kissed me and asked me out for 2nd dinner date. What he's trying to do?

1. he’s doing it on purpose to see your reaction maybe he wants to know if you’re the jealous type, which he wouldn’t like if he has a wandering eye

2. you just caught him doing what he usually does

I think there’s a difference between briefly looking and holding eye contact or staring or flirting. Because we all look when we see someone good look passing by. But if he was flirting its a red flag.

And why he’s asking you out in another date? Well why not …if he’s a player it doesn’t matter he’ll take whatever he can from any female.
