What’s the difference between being “good looking” and “attractive”?

Personally, I can find a person to be good looking yet I won’t find them attractive - as in I am not physically attracted to them but I can acknowledge that they are easy on the eyes. So is there actually any difference between being good looking or attractive? Which one would you prefer to be if you could only choose one?

One is objective the other is subjective.

For example Drew Barrymore has kind of a big chin. She does not fit what societal standards deem as attractive. But she's attractive to me. If she had the chin of a supermodel she'd still be attractive to me. But it's what sets her apart from other women. Her chin is one of the things about her that I find endearing.

So “good looking” is more for the general population and “attractive” is more for your individual preferences basically

Attractive, at least in RL, tends to include personality and such. A good-looking person can be the bitchiest, shallowest person imaginable, but I wouldn't consider them attractive. And while a lot of aspects are nearly universal - clear, smooth skin for example - others depend deeply on personal preference. To me, very large breasts and butts are a turn-off.

Gotcha, your explanation makes so much sense. I agree, a person can be very beautiful looking physically but have the personality of a cardboard and that would immediately make them unattractive despite looking like a greek god.

Good-looking means there physique
While attractiveness can be there physique, there character or anything you find amusing about them so good looking is under attractive
