Its a deep question but I guess weither it matters to the individual depends what they seek for, most would probably look for truth but not everyone does, some look for comfort, if you are looking for something then that motivation comes from somewhere but "something" can feel like nothing because it's so generalized that it feels like nothing and the best way to describe it is that you are looking for answers, wherever, however and whatever.
