OK so there's this boy I like, and I want his number but I'm scared to ask him for it because I'm not 100 percent sure that he's single.

I've never seen him with another girl, he seems nice, but my friend offered and I think is planning too whether I like it or not to just find him at school and be like hey so my friend thinks your cute and wants your number and get it to give to me, she has a boyfriend already so it wouldn't look like she was just asking.. should I let her ask and just give me the number,, or should I make her not and ask myself?

So pretty much boys, would it be weird if a girls friend got your number for her, or what should I do here? Please help asap thanks ahead of time!
