What are good dating profile pictures?

You should always have more than a few pictures for your profile.

First photo should be a close-up or mid range shot with a smile, smirk, and natural lighting. You should NOT use glasses for this.

Second photo should be a full body shot in a natural or outdoor setting. Walking, sitting casually, or standing with good posture. It helps people understand your physique and how you carry yourself. (The more transparency, the better)

Third should be an activity shot. You should ideally be doing something you love to do. If you love doing art, then do that. If you love fishing (even though fish photos are completely overused, so terrible example, but ah well), do that. If you love beach volleyball, do that. Even if you love gaming, do that. The point of dating apps is to find your person, so someone that respects that you game and might even take an interest in it too is a win.

Fourth should be a social picture. One with friends, family, or pet. (Ideally blur the faces of others in the photo to respect their privacy unless you have their permission to post on your profile).

And fifth should be a goofy one. Show maybe a silly face or something. It shows some personality. Don't force this one though. If a goofy face isn't you, then don't do it.

You should at least have the first and second photos. People with only one photo are usually not taken very seriously on dating apps.

Simple, casual, smiling. NOT a selfie. Selfies are proof positive that you’re not charismatic enough to have anyone available to take your pic! A solo’s pic (not some crap where you’ve cropped your ex out). A current pic (not some junk from 1955…).

An attention getter. Women typically use risqué pics to get guys attention. It's also the best way to tell what kind of bait a woman is using. A good woman does not have to lower herself to using risqué pics.

Think about the type of woman you want to attract and post the pic accordingly.
