Personality wise, my girlfriend is very similar to my sister, I hadn't noticed until recently. I guess that would explain why they get along so well, I don't know how I didn't see it before.

My sister has red hair and glasses, and I've always liked girls with red hair and glasses. As for my sister I have 0 romantic interest in her and frankly I try to avoid her and only see her in small doses because I find her politics and personality detestable most of the time. Some of this is Freudian blah blah blah. It means nothing unless you actually want to fuck your sister. This is a subconscious byproduct of probably you growing up having a good relationship with your sibling. Our parents and family growing up is where we learn our love language both platonic and romantic so since your sister was one of your role models for the idea of love you were raised with you see the connections because she treats you well just like your sister did. It doesn't mean you like your sister it means your sister set a high standard for what a woman should be and the girl you're with meets those standards. If anything, this is a sign you caught a good one.

Its not uncommon to end up dating/marrying someone who reminds you of your family members. You hear it all the time about women dating a guy who is like their father. It's what you know and like in a person (assuming you are close to that family member) so it makes sense that you want to be with someone who shares those traits you are comfortable with and like.

I wouldn't read too much into it. If you are happy with her then just enjoy that you found someone you love.
