At the end of our first date he gave me flowers. The flowers was in plastic bag (he bought the flowers from grocery store) and he was like I have something for you. when I look in to the plastic bag it had flower bouquet inside. Who does that lol. The whole time I thought that he has some other stuff in the plastic bag.

Let’s be honest here, you’re in your 30s so just be happy he even tried. He didn’t have to. Most men aren’t romantic, we’re not wired that way. So to you that may be lame or cheesy or whatever you think it is, but he tried. As time goes on he will learn more. Hell I still get my girl flowers from the grocery store, she loves them. Because they’re from me. Now if you’re thinking well they probably cost less then $20, cheap ass or whatever then you shouldn’t even be dating. You’re dating for money, not for a partner. There will come a time when no man wants to get you flowers when you end up single. Learn to appreciate the simple things in life before it’s all over.

I personally don't find it necessary to give flowers on a first date. You don't even know the person and you're giving them a gift? And it's a gift that you're going to look at for a few seconds then put in a vase to die after 2-4 weeks then throw out. I find the whole concept of giving flowers to be a little sheep-like.

My opinion about flowers out of the way, he did not have to give you flowers. The fact that you're ungrateful for the effort he put in is a red flag. It's ungrateful women like yourself that do not deserve a man's efforts.

Not trying to be mean but he didn't have to do that. He's showing a lot of effort on his part by giving you flowers. Men don't do that anymore so I definitely think it's romantic and old school. Girls today can't appreciate a good thing when they receive it because they feel the guy is being weird or has ulterior motives for being chivalrous.
