What do I do about this situation?

After a argument my boyfriend of 3 years said it was his breaking point with me because I wouldn't kiss him back. He told me he needed time to himself to think about what he wanted in his life and when I asked if we are breaking up he said he didn't know yet. Do I just wait on him? Do I assume we are over with even though he said he didn't know yet?

If he does come back how do I deal with the hurt this has caused?

It has been 5 days since we've talked i told him i respect his space and that I would leave him alone for a while. But I don't know when I should talk to him again.

Just also have to add that we live together and he works out of town which is what has been putting a strain on our relationship.

I won't comment on your argument, but only on what has occurred since "he needed time"...
For this, so far, you are doing the right thing.
However, in fairness to you, there comes a point when it's "shit or get off the pot".
So, you continue to give him time, but, if he doesn't respond in, say, a week (or whatever feels intuitive for you), then you gently say something like this:

"I've been giving you your time and space to think about our future and I respect that.
But, I can't wait indefinitely without hearing something from you.
So, if I don't hear from you within a week (or, again, whatever feels right to you), then I will assume our relationship is over and I will move on and wish you well."

And then you live up to what I just wrote/you sent. Basically, you are putting the ball in his court to do something and, if he does nothing, then you should feel free to move forward in your life.

If i Adore you, want you, desire you, expect a same Return and you don't, then Is No Point to continue, you kniw the saying..."don't love a person that Doesn't want to be Loved", is as simple as that!
