The only reasons I could imagine an Indian woman going for white guys specifically would primarily be for a more liberal and less patriarchal culture. But in general I don’t find this opinion to be true. I’ve lived in a predominantly Indian city for almost 9 years, worked at an all women’s gym here for 5. The majority women we get here are Indian, maybe 80% and almost all I’ve seen have Indian husbands. I have several Indian stores and restaurants and rarely see women with any other race. I buy handmade jewelry, soaps and other goods from women who refuse their daughters date other race. So I don’t find this take of yours to be true except for your own experience.

They’re not “obsessed.”

People are drawn to what feels different from their environment, culture, lifestyle, mindset, or the way they’re treated.

It’s less about race and more about curiosity, compatibility, and wanting something that aligns with how they want to live.

Attraction is personal.

Reducing it to skin color oversimplifies the whole story.

Because attraction isn’t a math equation.

People don’t distribute interest evenly across every “different” group.

A big part of it comes from exposure, media influence, stereotypes, and the way certain cultures are idealized or misunderstood.

People gravitate toward what they’ve been taught to see as desirable, even subconsciously.

It’s not about who’s “better,” it’s about what someone has been surrounded by, what they’ve been shown, and what feels familiar or safe to them.

Human attraction is complicated, reducing it to simple categories will always miss the real picture.

You missed the point. If this is truly just preference/attraction that's organic, we would be seeing a large more variety in selection of choice. However, we are seeing the vast majority going only for white men.

And as you pointed out. People gravitate to what they were taught, how many of these women were taught at an early age to see whites as superior and better than them? In India, children are literally shamed and mocked by their relatives for having dark skin and people are even discriminated and use skin whitening product.

This isn't attraction but brain washing.
