It is your prerogative to wear whatever you want as long as it is decent and you are not offending anyone.

If I was into dating, then I would certainly question that person for what reason he would wear something that uncomfortable and if there is more behind his kink than he wants to admit.

It would indeed be alarming to me and possibly a red flag.
