Honestly, I think it comes down to a combination of ego, attraction, power dynamics, and the way some men view aging. 😂


Some older men genuinely believe that being financially stable, established, or experienced makes them desirable to much younger women. Others enjoy the feeling of being admired by someone younger because it makes them feel youthful and validated.


But I think there is another side to this conversation. Some men pursue younger women because relationships with women their own age may require a level of emotional maturity, accountability, and equality they are not prepared to offer. A younger partner may have less relationship experience, which can sometimes make an imbalance of power easier to establish.


That said, not every age gap relationship is unhealthy, and not every older man has questionable intentions. Two consenting adults can genuinely love each other, regardless of their ages.


What I find interesting, though, is that a man being old enough to be your father doesn't automatically make him wrong for being attracted to you. But his attraction doesn't automatically make him entitled to your attention either.


And let's be honest, being able to afford someone's lifestyle is not the same as being able to meet their emotional needs. Money can attract attention, but emotional intelligence, respect, compatibility, and genuine affection are what help sustain a healthy relationship.


My biggest concern with significant age gaps isn't the number itself. It's whether both people have equal freedom to make decisions, establish boundaries, and walk away without being manipulated or controlled.

Plus a lot of women 35 - 50 will date a guy my age because the men their age are unsuccessful immature assholes. They lack style and class. Whereas an older guy is more secure financially and emotionally. He's calmer and easier to be around. He has knowledge and experience along with a network and status those younger guys can't compete with. And a successful older guy with resources is a known quantity. A woman isn't placing her bet on an unknown.
