Would you date a tourist?

Lets say they are in the city for up to 4 months.

One that doesn't require a reservation or anything, that is. How far in advance should you invite the other person? The morning of, the afternoon of, 24 hours before, 36 hours before, two days before, etc...

So, this is assuming it's not a date that needs to be organized in advance or anything, like a dinner reservation or something. Just, say, if you wanted to take someone bowling for example. It's also assuming the date is in the evening.

One possible thing could be to say, text them the day before to see if they're free the next day, and then call them the day of to clarify the details. Does something like that sound good?

You could just answer the poll if you want, but an explanation would be appreciated as well :).

Just for added clarification, I guess there'd be two cases: one, where the people don't know each other well, and the other, where they've known each other for a while, enough to be pretty comfortable around each other (at least when not dating).

For the poll we'll just stick with the case I'm in - we don't know each other well at all - but feel free to focus on either case if you wanna do a written answer.

So the date comes to an end and what is better to do: kiss a girl in your car and tell her goodnight or walk her to her porch and kiss her there.

And what if she still lives with her parents?

I've been dating this girl since February and made it official earlier this month (4/8). So today I was bored and wondered to myself if she is still on okcupid. I disabled my account months ago. I found that she is but has changed her single status to "seeing someone". And that she is looking for friends. WTF? People don't become friends through online dating sites do they? At that she is looking for male friends ages 28-38. I'm seriously mad. She hasn't been active on the site since the first week of April but why not disable it? She has more friends than I do here. I think I may just keep my profile up now, and see if she says something.

What do you think I should do? What would you think?

Guys and gals, are you a serial dater? Assuming you go on dates to screen for long-term relationship potential, why are you going on so many dates instead of picking out a partner? Do you actually enjoy meeting new people constantly, eating out, but not actually committing?

I suspect that some girls enjoy serially dating to get free meals/entertainment, while others are just too picky when it comes to standards and can't seem to find a guy that's "good enough". I think the other reason why girls serially date so much is that many men push for sex very early, meaning that the girls will blow him off and try to find a guy who is more patient.

As for guys, I find that many girls flake out, or fail to show interest after a first or second date, hence why I date new girls frequently. At times, it would appear that it is easier to get a girl in bed with you than find a potential long-term girlfriend!

So folks, agree or disagree? I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this serial dating phenomenon.

i'm not the one with the date , just wondering . my sister meet this guy online 2 months ago , now he is supposedly coming over for Easter dinner . I'm not really sure this is a good idea and it all seems a bit rushed . they've only been dating for 2 months , how long would you normally date someone before you did something like this with the parents

Let's say you were there when your boyfriend or guy you had a crush on got into a fight. In front of everyone. He gets knocked out, and the other guy punches him some more while he's down and stands over him in a dominating fashion

Would you leave him? Would you be able to see him in the same way again? Would you lose sexual attraction to him?

Another interesting question: would you become more attracted to the guy who dominated your BF/guy you had a crush on?

I've been having this experience in dating that has been happening a lot and it's getting very frustrating, and I'm sure there are others here (both sexes) who have experienced it to.

You go out on a first date, maybe a blind date or an internet dating thing, everything goes good, you have a great conversation, and when you part you hug and say "Text me later!" or something like that. Then... the silence..., you text her, and nothing, you text again, and nothing, you email, and nothing, then you realized it's happened. She isn't interested in you.

I do have to say I see this happening way too much lately and it is simply disrespectful and cowardly, if you're not interested in someone after the first date, then JUST TELL THEM, why do they always just ignore you hoping that you'll get the message? And also, if you're just not feeling it on the date, why not just say so, be honest, and part ways, that's the honorable thing to do, rather than lying through your teeth and body language, giving the date the feeling that you're interested. This is just cruel, it gets a guy's hopes up, then crushes them.

I think it may be this post-1985 born generation of people growing up with stuff like the internet that lets you avoid face to face confrontation so much that you never learn how to face it. I see it a lot in girls, though, it may happen with guys too, I don't date them so I don't know, if that's the case girls, tell us here. It's true, we all don't like confrontation, especially face-to-face, but something like a text message isn't even confrontation, all you have to do is text them "Thanks for the date, but I'm not interested, sorry." Seriously girls, it's not going to hurt they guy's feelings, it's not, back me up here guys, and also tell me of your experiences with this phenomenon.

I want to know WHY you do this, and don't lie saying you've never done it, nobody's perfect, if you've done it, just say so and tell us what's going on in your head so we can understand you better, and maybe not be so hurt when you flat out ignore us after the first date. I'll put a poll up here to see how many have done it, and please be honest.
