It's my birthday, and my former boss really surprised me with a text. I quit this job about 5 months ago, and the new job hasn't been working out at all. I've been having a hard time lately because I really regret leaving my old one. Which was why, when my boss texted me, it was so surprising because I assumed they'd probably moved on.

Would it be awkward to respond to the text thanking her and letting her know the new job isn't working out and I'd like my old job back?
