How do you deal with being at a toxic workplace?

I worked at a place where people used to disappear on a regular basis and nobody would mention them again. I think the owner monitored e-mail usage and browser histories. I always felt like 'I was being watched.
My supervisor used to put meetings on my calendar and then not show up for them. I would sit in an empty conference room for an hour. This probably happened 3 or 4 times. I figured if they didn't mind paying me for sitting in an empty conference room UI was not going to argue. I just did what I was told and tried to stay out of trouble.

Start looking for a new place to work. Chances are you're not going to change anything around there

you don't, you talk to your supervisor and although they may not be part of the problem directly, they are also not part of the solution if new people join and have to tell her hey did you know your staff is a bunch of assholes? it's not you, it happens. you'll find your style at work, it just won't be at every company, and you keep applying until one fits for the time you're there.
