How to deal with an annoying coworker?

One of my male coworkers is always following up with me during the day asking things like “all good?” And “brb” any time he goes away. He lectures me about things and scolds me for things I did wrong and says things like “well I’m leaving in 2 weeks so if you need anything before then please tell me.” Thing is, he’s not very reliable and leaves periodically through the day. He also can take a long time to answer some messages. He has told me the wrong answer to things multiple times and it got me in trouble. He rushes me to do things. One other coworker told me he seemed controlling when he was giving team updates and saying how my progress was going. my manager told me today she doesn’t want me using him as a mentor and suggested I ask other people for help. Also once my power disconnected and so I couldn’t work for like 30 minutes and he scolded me and goes “I don’t mean to get pissy but..”
How can I handle this politely? I’m not sure how to kindly tell him to step off.

If he's quitting in 2 weeks does it really matter much? Soon you won't have to deal with him anymore

He considers us friends. I kinda of don’t tbh. But there’s one guy at work I’m talking to romantically who also is friends with him.

My first instinct is to avoid them. I usually plug my airpods and act like im listening to some music while i work.

Lol, in that case whenever he asks for a meeting you can start telling him that you’re in the middle of some task and you’ll get back to him afterwards.
He should never be scolding you or he should never get angry at you. U should always draw a line somewhere and tell him that you don’t appreciate it.
He seems like an insecure personality

If your manager knows that he’s a tool then you can use that and be straight forward with him and tell him that u dont need his help for now when he offers it

He thinks I need his help to like function.
And I guess it also my fault because I’ve set up meetings with him before to get help, usually over something he did wrong though.

Talk to your manager. I think she gets that he’s kind of a flake.
