What is a ABE test and what do the scores mean?

I’ve been going into work source trying to find a job out will actually work with my degree (History) and they had me take an ABE test I’m not sure that that means or does. On the math portion I scored a 231 out of 263 and the reading part a 260 out of 263 unfortunately I got done right as work source was closing so I didn’t really have time to discuss what does scoring meant or what the test does there closed on Friday so I won’t be able to get this answer until Monday unless I go to the internet and google isn’t clear on what it means
