Is choosing my dream selfish?

I'm 22 years old and I currently live with my brother and mother. No one currently works in the household but I found employment at a company 2 hours from home. We share a family car. I'd like to stay with other family closer to the job, keeping the car for two weeks so I can make a first check. Is it selfish to want this opportunity at a time like this?

No, it's not selfish. Although if you're going to loan the family car, you should send them some money as compensation, once you get your first check, as they won't be able to use it for two weeks.
