My boss wanted me to do something even without asking me to do it?

So I just started my work and my boss asked if I got someones number I told him no because he didn't really ask me to get her number and then he said Im useless. Like Im not a mind reader wtf

He's evaluating your ability to think on your feet and take initiative. If you do things that help the company without being told... you're an asset. If you have to be told to do every little thing... that takes time away from other's productivity because now they have to check up on you.

If this sinks in... there's hope for you. If you get defensive... then I agree with your boss. I'll be looking for ways to replace you.

Really he actually didn't like it when someone takes initiative? I have a coworker who takes initiative and he gets mad for it he said he's the one who will decide on everything.. I can't even do something without asking him first

Like last time he said he gave me something but he didn't really give me something (document) and he said the date of the meeting was 17 so I put it on my phone as 17 but then its really 14 like wtf lol

Its okay I just dont like my co workers cuz they always excluded me when they are going to place after work like they would talk they would eat at restaurant after work infront of me but Im not invited cuz one of my coworker always say they are only 5 and that no other could join them anymore and they are really 5 so I figured they dont like me.
