In high school or college, were you ever invited to join an honors society?

I got an email from an organization called "The National Society of Collegiate Scholars". They want me to pay $100 for a lifetime membership. But I am in my school's honors program, and I feel like that's good enough for now.

As for me I made National Honors Society in High School & if they wanted me to pay $100.00 for a lifetime membership I would tell them to go pound sand.

Buy $100.00 in lottery scratch off tickets instead…

Honor societies do not require you to pay ANYTHING to be in their ranks. They might ask you to DONATE money, but nothing else.

It's a scam. I was asked to join those things 50 years ago. Same old saw. Pay this amount to be listed in the honor society's roster. Bull shit.. Don't be duped.

I was offered all kinds of scholarships, programs, internships and what not... and without having to pay a dime either

I declined them all because I knew who the sponsors were, and why...

That sounds like a scam. I was invited to join Whos Who for young Americans. Naturally they wanted some money.
