I'm an automation engineer working for a company that builds integrated systems for manufacturing industries; mostly automotive.
The jobs all right. I wouldn't say that I love my job but I don't dread going into work like I did in my early 20s before I went to school and upgraded my education.
I used to work on the opposite end of the spectrum as a line worker in automotive.
After having gone through the emotions of being a disposable employee and having been treated like shit for nearly a decade, being where I am is good.
The only thing I'm not particularly happy with when it comes to my career is that I'm constantly on call. It can be rather disruptive at times. I hate getting called into a job at random hours of the night or having to field calls while on vacation.
However, when things are going good, I do sometimes only work 20-30 hours in a given week. It sure as hell beats the mandatory 60 hours I used to pull before and during my college years.

Funeral home owner/operator/funeral director and all of the tasks that go with it.
I grew up a funeral home kid in a business that goes back five generations. Had you asked me four years ago if I would be in the funeral business, like most every other funeral home kid I would have told you not only no, but hell no, no way. Not me, huh uh. But now I can't see myself doing anything else. It allows me to combine my business education, altruistic streak, and genuine love and caring for people that I doubt I would find anywhere else.

I lucked out by knowing someone whose mom was friends with the VP of a growing auto insurance company in the Los Angeles area. They were starting a trainee program for motor vehicle field aduster/appraisers.
At 26 years old, I didn't even know what a claim's adjuster was and knew nothing about autobody repair.
I went through the trainee program and then they tossed me into the deep end of the pool. It took me about five years of really hard work to figure out the system. But it was a great company and I wound up loving the job, as well as the salary and incredible benefits. Being in the field was awesome. They really treated me well.
I retired after 30 years with a pension and lots of money in a 401(k).I'm in healthcare and it has it's pros and cons. I don't see it as a dream job, but it does pay well and is challenging enough and rewarding enough in the joy I get out of helping people. Having patients who I make a difference in their lives is pretty special.
I am an environmental engineer, my main focus is botany and wildlife studies, and assessing the status of wildlife in Canada.
Been doing it for 24 years.
I like it bc it is a nice mesh of writing reports/indoor work discussions with agencies and outdoor work finding rare plants and animals.
It involves some travel throughout Canada.
I'm a finance accountant, it's okay, it pays the bills and not stressful
I work in a real estate office.
It pays the bills.
Legal. I hate it, but it pays a crazy amount.
I'm a senior design checker & senior mechanical design engineer. I should like it since I've started off 45 years ago or so to get this far. 5 years to go to retire.
I'm a gold dealer and I love it enough to work for £2 an hour
I start a new job Monday... I'll be driving a concrete mixer truck
