Not unless your in accouting of each area. Doesn't make since to me either and I live in the USA. Rt now, as my insurance pays 80% of my costs then great. I saw about big pharma. Depends on the meds. Glad that im on the meds im on or id be dead. YES DEAD!!! I've changed everything I can to bring my bp down outside of meds. My dr tried taking me off with my changes. Went to get checked as supposed to. He asked me if I felt fine. Said yes. He said you sure you're not having a stroke? No, im not. Sent me to hospital for 3 days to put me back on my meds and monitoring so I wouldn't die. YES DIE!!! I'm alive now due to big pharma and the messed up insurance. So obviously there is something right about it, even tho it makes no since.

A few reasons other than flat out price gouging.

1. R & D costs a lot, and much of it is for naught. Companies have to make up for the shortfall with products that work.
2. Malpractice insurance is insanely costly, as are litigation costs when something happens. Even if someone's life is saved by the actions of the physician (s) there might be lawsuits over something and the physician's insurance has to pay, meaning premiums go up and get passed along.
3. Massive governmental interference. When my dad was little, doctors made affordable house calls.

USA's system is not the worst in absolute terms, but considered the worst among first world nations.

The opposite actually. And you don’t have to be “rich” to afford private healthcare here. Many private employers will offer it. He’d still rather pay more though, than have to wait for months to see a doctor under Britain’s subsidized government healthcare.

And by the way, America has Medicare and Medicaid, so its not like poor people are literally dying because they can’t get healthcare

There's no justification, it's clear humans put money over the health of others, if you don't believe in the illuminati, I recommend you start doing so cause big pharma is involved in it and they are in charge of everything, every company, they poison us so then we pay for medications and health benefits and that's their secret, that's why your sandwich has sugar, it's not necessary but they add it

The US has the best medical facilities on the planet. Rich oil sheiks and movie stars all come here for medical treatment. However, salaries for administrators have reached ridiculous proportions. Many of these people have multi million dollar contracts. I would ask what makes these guys worth that kind of money? Competent medical care is a commodity and to get good treatment you have to pay top dollar.
