Does studying linguistics in university bring more jobs at the end, or does studying a foreign language bring more jobs? Which one gives the most job security?

Linguistics is very niched, and without a secondary specialization like coding to work on natural language models or A. I. there's just not a whole lot of linguistics jobs out there other than... teaching linguistics.

Foreign language proficiency, especially if you know the cultural indicators and secondary meanings, you'll always have a job teaching English in that country or working as a corporate translator.

Even with a PhD in linguistics you’ll be lucky to find work. A foreign language if it enables you to translate would probably be more practical.

I would say foreign languages for business purposes or an interpreter. I also know to people in speech pathology right now and it pays well.
