What gets you inspired to write?

I currently have writer's block. I can't seem to write a single sentence. What do you do to get out of a writer's block?

the number one thing for me is music, and after that probably art pieces or pics of something natural.

oh yes and dreams. i got a lot of real wacky ideas to write in dreams lol. try to keep something to write on next to your bed then when you wake up you can attempt to remember what you dreamt about.

I don't force myself to write... I do it when I feel the idea formulating in my head and imagination

I rarely write in the order the story will be shown to the readers... I mostly let the inspiration choose the time and content... I just do the notes :D

It all depends on what I'm trying to write if it's sexual stuff LOL all it takes is the right tone of words from somebody or a thought coming from myself it just gets everything going if it's a poem or something serious it's the same thing it might be the rhythm of beat a tune of a song but it's usually when I feel it it just starts coming

Usually I will do a writing exercise I like to use where I'll ask someone for random words and then I pick a style I want to write in and use those words, usually things like poems or short stories. I'll do a few of these to get my creative juices flowing.

Perhaps listen to "Unknown Pleasures", the debut album from Joy Division. It's a pioneering goth work. ("Day of the Lords" is the 2nd song.)

"Disintegration" (both the album and the song) is a masterpiece. It is one of the greatest albums ever and, if you want to go visit some well of dark emotions for inspiration to write, it's the go-to album.

A lot of good goth can take you there should be able to inspire you. I like Clan of Xymox too for that. "Spider On The Wall", their 2020 album, is very good.

Hmmm honestly it’s just forcing myself to write. I start with stuff that’s low quality and little by little I get inspired. Seth Godin has good tips on the topic.
