Why are all Tim Burton characters tall and lanky?

It's just his art style. Every artist or creator has there own art style and vision for their characters. Tim Burton has a very unique art style... I haven't seen anything quite like it before and that's a GOOD thing. I'm not sure if he was just trying to create something fresh, new and unique for a movie... or if he always just envisioned these characters in his mind.

However, since most of his movies carry a similar style and it's just so well written and executed, I'm guessing this isn't something he just created for the sake of a movie... This was something he has imagined for a while now. This was an idea he's been playing around with for awhile and finally was able to create it.
