mmm, i count my self as intermidiate artist (painter) drawing from many years before , at some time i asked the same question from my point of view is these things which i made (portrait, oil painting, water color, still life) are neccery and what the point of loosing half or half and little year in drawing land scape or any other sight and i started my searches and i was in an important point and i was ready to leave what i do and spend my time in other things maybe working i start asking people around me and taking online opinios and asking other artists about thier opinions i found that we as artists or dancers or musicians are responsible for our society making lives of people better by making arts like when we see the learning or rising children is a bad procees or unhealthy we start making arts movies to alert other for these bad actions or making parties or galleries and give the mony of it for others who need it so we have our part in changing things and we are affect our unities by making them change thier actions in my opinion as painter for only that reason i paint every day to make my place better and helping other people in any way i can by my drawings in addition to that role we play an essential part of culture of the place we live in and i think the culture of country is something relate to every single individual of it so i really encourage you to be an artist in any aspect you love you will be the change maker

Depends what your definition on art is. If everything is art and if there were suddenly no art, there would be nothing and therefor no life. Some sees the nature, the world and the universe itself as art.

Some has wider definition on art than others. Some only sees music, dance, paintings, statues etc. as art, but other sees also buildings, food, inventions etc. as art. If art is a necessity or not is depending on the person's definition on art that seems like people aren't agreeing in it [the definition].

I think art is a part of the human nature and if there's no art we would miss the advantages of it like the therapeutic effect, the expression of something, the fun with it, the development in the human kind etc. Either the world would be depressing or humans wouldn't be humans, but a different specie with a different mindset.

Definitely a necessity. Like imagine a life without colors. Very difficult. Or a movie without music? Art expresses things that you sometimes you can not speak.

I find it beautiful all of it dance to music, art to photography and all others. I believe everybody has in some sort of way a connection with art. Someone might play an instrument, the other dances and the other might even paint a canvas.

It inspires people to creativity. :)

Art it's so necessary that happens without you even notice, art doesn't have to be you going to museums to appreciate Botticelli (although I love it lol) or listening to Mozart, how you live in this mad mad world it's an art. Life is art

It's definitely wanted, art can make you happy and entertain yourself with it. It's not a necessity bc you can live without it but it makes life a little easier.

I've never known anybody who didn't like art in some form or another. Music, for example, is one the more popular forms of art and is found just about everywhere in the world, even in third world countries. It plays an important role in a lot of different cultures around the world.

There have been actual scientific studies that have shown music to have psychological effects on people. Although I can't say how much of an effect it has and I'm not saying it's a necessity for survival, like food is for example, but it is a necessity for life.

There's never been a society without art of one type or another. In Muslim cultures were images are forbidden, geometric art is common. In Ireland during the Church's prohibition again dancing, the Irish dance (no arms movement) was developed. In America during the depression, various art forms using found materials were developed.
