Why are pc players so toxic against console players?

I play on both PC and console, and I can't really say I've experienced too much toxicity against console players. Obviously there are some kinds of people that are just toxic for no reason, but that usually extends to more things than just pc vs. console. Some people are just generally shitty about anything they have an opinion on. But in my experience most pc players don't just go out of their way to shit on console players. The only time I've ever been around people that argue about it is if a console player starts the argument by saying consoles are better and PCs are a waste of money.

The first things that come to mind for people who do do this is below

Over enthusiasm for the PC, believing anything other than the PC is beneath them.

Being uncomfortable seeing people using consoles to play something you could play on a PC, straying from the usual

OCD, prefer the idea of everyone using a PC for the same stuff.

It's dumb but those were the first thing that came to mind :/

Oh, you mean why are SOME PC player toxic against SOME console players? A variety or reasons. It may be financial, or space related. I prefer to play all my games on the same machine, rather than having to spend hundreds of dollars on several different boxes and the associated cabling and hardware. And all the clutter and space those consoles take up.
It may be a "purist" thing, too. I've heard both sides claim that you don't get the "real" experience on the other.
It may be the availability of their favorite games. They may only be available on the PC, or the console, and they have only the other. That's always frustrating.
In the end, its's not important why; only that "haters gonna hate."

I suspect some of it is the amount of time and money investment required for PC as opposed to console, though I've seen flame wars both ways. People find the silliest things to argue about. Reminds me of the days when I was a kid when people were arguing about SNES/Super Famicom vs. Genesis/Megadrive. I'm like, "Let's just have fun playing games!"

What competition? lol PC will always be more powerful. Powerful in the RAM, PROCESSING, GRAPHIC and STORAGE aspects.

Just a GTX 1070 8GB GPU doesn't hold a candle to ps4 nor xbox one their graphical processes. The price of a card like that alone buys a ps4, if not both the ps4 and an xbox lol
