Do you think its helps to show that women can do things that men can?
Are there movies (or other media) where it's better to have all women instead of all men?
Very fucking few.
All female casts are a red flag for me. They're usually poorly written, badly acted, and have little actual substance.
Don't get me wrong, I love female characters and I love female protagonists.
I just think a story should be told well, and not painted with a thin veneer of "oh look, we're so progressive and pro-woman!" in an attempt to market a badly made product.
It's better to have strongly written female protagonists and a diverse cast. Like Grace and Frankie, for example. There's lots there where women get some of the inside jokes or that can tackle female issues, but that also tell a complete story.
Movies like the all-female Ghostbusters just feels like... Badly gendered jokes slapped together because "oh look, women!".
I'd love to see a Marvel female centric ensemble film, but it has to be something well-written, directed, and produced. It has to have a story that happens to involve majority female characters, but isn't just an excuse to put all the boobs on screen.
I really love how Murdoch Mysteries handles the women's cast. It's a mixed cast, but there's episodes very much centred on the ladies without diminishing their competence, struggles, or trying to parade them around like trophies.
That's a lot to take in, but its greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
Can we talk some more? Either here or in messages?
I like a variety rather then just one gender. But what i liked about girly movies like Mean Girls, Charlies Angels (nit the sucky new one), Sleepover, etc is that they always showed at least one hot guy that the girls really focused on
I'll put this bluntly: there isn't. These movies are made to appeal to a very niche audience that is nowhere near large enough to even be worth pandering to. Roughly 70% of moviegoers are men, virtually none of which are entertained by man-hating agendas pushed in these newer movies like gospel. Of the remaining audience of women, the majority of them are also not entertained though usually for a different reason: it's blatant (and offensive) pandering. Gender-bent remakes are uncreative, usually waste any talent of the actresses, pisses off the core fanbase, and almost always results in the death of a franchise (terminator), or a desperate attempt to resurrect it by bringing back original actors (like ghostbusters).
That's not to say you can't have a successful action movie with a female main protagonist; there are plenty. The first two Terminators, Alien, Underworld, and Star Wars Rogue One to name a few.
Both the movies bombed at the box office , although I was surprised to see Kristen Stewart can actually act , next movie underwater was even better , well to take down the terminator with a whole female cast they still needed Arnie , the only woman i liked doing her own stunts was sorry is Angelina Jolie , and next , birds of prey was another example , i saw the movie just to see Harley Quinn , also pirates of Caribbean gonna reboot with a female lead Margot robbie that is also gonna bomb , oceans 8 with legendary sandra Bullock, i fall in love with her since I saw the movie speed , the thing is that I respect women but they cannot replace men , not here to argue how many of the woman can lift up a 50 pound barbell , let's say 10 , i am sure 7 out of 10 men can lift that

None that I've seen really. I prefer a mix myself they tend to have better acting and be better written. A lot of these "feminist" spins that keep coming out are more offensive than anything and the lines and it are disappointingly laughable. They usually lack any sense of being realistic, the action scenes are so far fetched and the women never fight like a woman would in any combat situation. Hollywood needs to stop coming out with this bullshit until they can actually write an all female cast that isn't a mockery.
I appreciate everything you said here. And I have a few questions.
But first one, how do women fight in combat? What are your best/favorite examples?
They tend to use thier bodies and full weight to maneuver thier opponents into a position where they can more easily be taken out. In a lot of these "progressive" films they tend to fight like a man would and that's usually head on with fists and a woman being smaller wouldn't get terribly far doing that against a bigger and stronger opponent. Women's lower body strength tends to present more force so kicking and utilizing her weight as well as avoiding direct hits would be far more realistic if she's of average size. If you have seen marvels black widow she does exactly that. And Charlize Theron's Atomic Blonde uses distractions, lamp cords, fridge doors and evasive fighting techniques. Fight smarter not harder, that's how to win a fight if you're a smaller person.
I think it's degrading.
Like you need to have no men in the movie for a woman to shine. It's unfair to many great actresses who can steal the show of any man.
I hate how Hollywood always feels like it's trying too hard to meet a certain quota. Like adding females to a franchise that didn't feature that many before and even swaping cast members for others from different races to meet the race quota it just feels fake.
Like sure it's nice to have all shapes sizes and colors on screen but it needs to feel natural.
As long as it doesn’t seem forced. Some movies it feels unnatural unauthentic because they’re just trying to be politically correct. When done right you forget it’s all women or it just feels well done
How can it be done right then?
More story focused not gender focused
That's helpful. I appreciate that.
For most movies a mix is better, but in some cases an all female cast could be an advantage
Besides giving birth, what can women do better than men?
Most of us are better at emotional stuff, though there are exceptions
What about physical or mental?
A lot of athletic women are good at endurance stuff like marathons. Men tend to be better at sprinting, but again, there are exceptions. Mentally, our brains are wired differently than men’s, but there are plenty of women who are good at science and math and plenty of men who can write a decent romance novel. When you’re casting a movie you’ve gotta be careful about gender role stereotyping.
I want to be able to show womens' strengths. Stuff men dont/can't do.
I doubt there are any actors here so how would anyone knew what the advantages are if any?
There's tons of movies with a leading cast of women. I just don't like it when they decided to redo some of the movies that had male characters with females.
One example that comes to mind was Ghostbusters.
Like minded thinking, no sexual preceptors/tension, multifunctional tasking
I would love to hear more of your thoughts on this.
Only thing men can't do is give birth or have periods.. and that doesn't make us physically stronger than men 😑 meaning we don't need any help from men. I wish things could go back to normal.
Could cater to some audience, which may then make it profitable.
Hilarious. How are these movies with an all female cast? An all female cast means no males of any kind.
It's a fantasy.
Movies are bulshit so I'm not sure what an all female cast proves.
It's just a fun sisterhood, bonding experience for them to work together.
That or they hate each other.
Well, clearly there wasn't many when it comes to Charlie's Angels, that was a total disaster and a massive flop.
nothing. they never let a learning disabilities still want their right back.
lol they completely destroyed Ghost Busters.. Terminator.. The oceans series.. No, not interested in feminist infused woke cinematic trash.
How about the all lesbian "Ghost Busters"? Talk about a "box office" flop.
If by advantage they make far less money and people don't like them much. Well there ya go. 😂
Toilet seat is always down, the bathroom floor does not smell like piss.
None, in my opinion.
You don't know who is going to save the girl...
Seductive advertising 😜
Piss off conservative cucks
