Do you agree with either of these choices for greatest movie of all time?

In a poll done way back in 2006 Empire readers voted The Shawshank redemption as the greatest movie of all time.

In 2021 Insider used the reviews aggregator Metacritic to determine the most critically acclaimed movie of all time. The result they came up with was Citizen Kane.

Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption. Do you agree with either of these choices for greatest movie of all time? I don't.

Not at all. Citizen kane i will never watch looks boring as hell, and Shawshank is super boring so... Also i feel like even if you liked these films there will be some other film that for sure beats them. Personally a greatest film to me would be something like Sin City

I don't know if I've seen that but I'm not sure. Sometimes I don't think I've seen something and then someone starts explaining the plot to me and I realise I've seen it.

Black and white film with some color at parts, based off the comic. Has different stories in it, one about the yellow bastard the main mob boss son who is depicted with a yellow head throughout. The main Old cop who is played by Bruce willis is trying to protect this girl from the mob and him in one of the stories and has one of the best quotes at the end of that story. Then one is about a guy called marv who is super strong and he ends up been a badass even while on the electric chair.

I liked Citizen Kane but I definitely liked Shawshank Redemption better. But I would not say Shawshank Redemption is the greatest movie of all time because there have been so many that were equally good.

I haven't seen Citizen Kane, but Shawshank was average at best for me. Probably because it was too over-hyped, it just felt like a letdown.

I haven't seen Citizen Kane but to me Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the best movie ever made.

I don't see what all the fuss would be over citizen caine. I have never been able to watch it for very long. Shawshank redemtion is a very good one though

I'd choose Shawshank between the two.

But as much as I love Shawshank, my absolute favorite is 2001: A Space Odyssey to this day.

Nobody who actually saw citizen Kane thinks it's a good movie. Just saying.

It's a pretty good movie. The art, cinematography and the editing makes it a must watch for every student studying cinema. It just had a rather pretentious ending, that's all. And not everyone "who actually saw it" hates the ending.
