Is it just me or has Nickelodeon become a channel that insults kids intelligence?

Back in the 90s and 2000s it was great. But, I watched the Patrick Star Show and thought it was kinda absolutely stupid (and I'm a huge SpongeBob fan). Nickelodeon has sure changed from when I was a kid. Now it's pretty much all gross poop and fart jokes.

Yes, a lot of things are changing with cartoons.. I recalled years ago I was sick one Sunday with the stomach flu and laying on the couch, I was like age 11, and my
Mom had to take care of me and the rest of the family went over to my Grandparents
for Sunday dinner but I recalled seeing a cartoon and the character looked like Goofy and no shit he pulled something out of his pants that looked like a huge penis and I looked twice to see if I was seeing things but I wasn't... So to this day, it remains a mystery and I wonder if that wasn't a cartoon blooper that shouldn't have happened?

It does seem like more than 20 years ago cartoons used to be more "low-key".
Now every cartoon seems like it has to have some kind of darker or immature "toilet"-kind of humor joke in one or a few episodes if not all the episodes.

Sadly, Viacom (the parent company) has a way of ruining what it touches. See also Proctor and Gamble with respect to Gillette men's shaving products.

You can write a strongly worded letter to them indicating you are disappointed at the very least, as the once clever humor of Spongebob (that even parents watching could laugh along with their kids), has been degraded, but otherwise turn it off.

Yeah, I totally agree with you.
I hate it when they add in gross toilet humour and degrading/stupid jokes, especially when they pepper in references to kids' intelligence.
It used to make me really mad, but now I've found things to watch that I like, eg Blackadder and Forrest Gump

No I think it's just that show is bad. I watched the Patrick show too I was excited because I thought yay SpongeBob but eh was pretty dumb. Camp koral was cute af though and funny.

It’s all gotten worse, cartoons just aren’t as good as they used to be, probably has a lot to do with being political correct and cancel culture worried about what they can say without hurting someone’s feelings somehow so they don’t say much to be funny anymore or smart
