Interesting... so you are into Black Metal. Here is the thing about anyone who finally realizes that Satanism is nothing more than just another radical branch of christianity. In other words if you call yourself a Satanist, you just called yourself a Christian Making you nothing but a joke.
That is why it has been rejected and replaced by Viking Metal, completely going pagan and rejecting everything christian. Besides, I've never even heard of those bands at all! Like what? Nothing from Burzum, Bathory, Mayhem, Satyricon, Cradle of Filth, Emperor, Rotting Christ, Old Man's Child, Bodom, Behemoth, Decide, Sepultura, Candle Mass, Anal Cunt or even Cannibal Corpse? Oh go worship your Christian concept of evil and just know how sad that truly is.
Actually, I find you rather humorous and am now tired of you and your silly atmospheric, euphoric, down beat, trance or even symphonic Black Metal, my little baby Sister Christian.
Um... What? π You do realize that not all black metal deals with Satanic themes or lyrics? It's simply the style of metal they play in. I'm not a Satanist, I just enjoy the music.
No, Black Metal is defined as being Satanic... Period, end of story. Do you even know how it started and just who came up with the name Black Metal? That would be Venom... Do you even know the name of the first recognized Black Metal artist is? That would be Bathory.
How about the first Music store that was dedicated to Black, Death and Doom metal? That would a shop called Helvete in Oslo, Norway. It was owned and operated by the member of Mayhem. Their story is where Black Metal and its followers made history. Mayhemβs singer Dead committed suicide in 1991 by eating a shotgun shell, numerous church burnings and the murder of Euronymous by his former bandmate Varg Vikernes from Burzum in 1993. It just gets better from there!
I don't care what you think about what Black Metal is, you can relate it to hip hop for all I care. But it will never change what it's origin is from and just what it truly is. I am just a bit too much into this scene. Yeah, way too much. Oh, as far as the only true Satanist members are actually in a Death Metal Band... that would be Decide. They do not classify themselves as a Black Metal band since they do not wear corpse paint.
The overwhelming problem with modern metal, including these songs, is that it is all fantastically overproduced so any sense of natural elegance or musicianship is suppressed if not outright eradicated.
It's a real shame really. For instance, that song "From A Frozen Wasteland" had some potential and was reminiscent of some of the good prog of the 1970s, ... but then the cat-in-a-blender screaming began thus ruining it like having to eat soup that someone just pissed in.
You need to learn about King Crimson and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer.

@420Rachel do you know of this turn-of-the-millennium song, "Voodoo" by Godsmack?
Here's an example of a song that was NOT overproduced by had plenty of darkness to it.

This is Voodoo Too which is good but a bit overproduced like most modern metal. Another reason why Voodoo is more famous than Voodoo Too.

Holy shiznit. I've been looking for something like this for a while. Thanks for pointing them out.
*frantically updates Spotify*
Ever since I found bands like Sirenia, Jorn, Deadlock and a few others I've been on the hunt for other heavy and atmospheric songs like these.
Would highly reccomend Sirenia's "Seven Sirens and a Silver Tear". Awesome stuff. 🤘🤘
Here you are. Go for a journey through the stars. π Mesarthim is pretty much my favorite atmo black band at this point. Incredible stuff.

@abc3643 so? lol i agree with @420Rachel you are one of those elitists pricks lol
I am fine with people enjoying whatever.
I am just trying to broaden their horizons.
Here's an example...
In 1999, my wife - a native of Saint Louis - came east and had NY-style pizza for the first time in her life.
She said "What is this? It's not pizza!"
I said "Yes. Yes, it is. What do you think it is?"
"Not pizza"
Deeply puzzled, I asked, "What do you consider pizza?"
"Not this. I grew up with in my opinion's."
... and thus began my long tortuous journey of discovering in my opinion's, the local pizza chain, and St. Louis Style Pizza.
Google "St. Louis Style Pizza" and its Frankencheese "Provel" and "Imos" and you will understand why.
For example:
Deadspin Calls St. Louis-Style Pizza "A War Crime"
www.riverfronttimes.com/.../deadspin-calls-st-louis-style-pizza-a-war-crime
But, once my wife had NY-style pizza, she then began to understand what pizza really is - which St. Louis Style pizza is not - a sort of Italian nacho. She had an epiphany: St. Louis Style Pizza = Shit.
She won't eat it now even though we don't have much choice living in the STL area. We drive 50 miles each way to get NY Style pizza.
... all because I exposed her to what is better and that, in her defense, she was born wallowing in the pizza equivalent of shit. And now she understands - it was shit after all.
* Sorry, that got auto-incorrected.
She said:
" Not this. I grew up with I m o's. "
