Hands down, Jimi Hendrix, both with the Experience and Band of Gypsies. His albums Are you Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, Electric Ladyland, and Band of Gypsies are phenomenal. I never got to see him live, though.

I could name scores of bands that I absolutely love. Some of them are super famous and some not so much. But I couldn't possibly rank them.

I attended an average of one concert a week from the time I was 16 (1970) through my later 20s. I continued to see concerts after that, but not as frequently. I saw the greatest bands. To quote Roy Batty from The Blade Runner, "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe."

Yes did two tours with the most amazing stage set ups ever, and of course their music was incredible.

The best single performance I ever saw, though, was Led Zeppelin. I saw them many times, but one stood out. They've even talked about that particular night at the L. A. Forum.
After their second planned encore, the house lights came on and the crew started tearing down the equipment, but the crowd wouldn't leave. They clapped and stomped on the bleachers in unison, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, for over five minutes. The crew set the equipment back up and the band played another song. That happened three more times for six encores in all. The last song they played was Thank You. Robert Plant even improvised some lyrics to thank the audience. When the last note of that song faded out, there was utter silence. It was the perfect ending and everyone realized it.
The house lights came on and everyone filed out silently and peacefully as if in a daze. I never experienced anything like it.

So Led Zep is one of my favorites. So was Jethro Tull for many years. Their albums and concerts were also unbelievable.

I just looked it up and I thought so...

The band "Ice Nine Kills" got its name from the fictional substance Ice-nine.
In the 1963 Kurt Vonnegut novel "Cat's Cradle", Ice-nine was developed for the military.
It is effectively a weapon of mass destruction. Ice-nine is a solid at room temperatures, but the crystalline structure of ice-nine makes is a "seed crystal" for turning any liquid water into additional ice-nine.

So, if ice-nine got into the environment and came into contact with any body of water, that body of water would turn into a body of ice-nine. In other words, there'd be no more water.

Thus, without liquid water, life dies.
