For those that were around for them, what were the 80s like?

In the 80's I spent most of my time at the arcade playing pool and listening to the jukebox, or riding my bike around. I was obsessed with ninjas, lol.
We had a 20 year old tv at home that had 2 channels on and it was hooked to a tv antenna. My older brother was always working on muscle cars and old trucks. My sister had the 80's hair. Our family had a station wagon, we didn't wear seatbelts, and our parents smoked around us all the time. In the summer we were always out playing sports, or hanging out with other random town kids.
The 80's were alright, but I was a teenager in the 90's so that's when I was partying and really into music and it was fun. The early 2000's were awesome because I was in a relationship, in love and really having a full life.

It was okay I guess. The music from the early 80s was good. I was a big Springsteen fan. Gas was reaching a buck a gallon and Ronald Reagan was in the White House. I remember when the Statue of Liberty was reopened after renovations.
