I consider myself to be an experienced anime fan with dozens or more of series and mangas' consumed from various different genres. except for 'horror' and 'sports' I have some exposure to everything.
I would like to give you a recommendation that you will both watch and enjoy and for that I need to learn some things about your preference that are more exact to the type than "not fighting"
Drama is personally my favorite but I also tend to consume plenty of comedy and simple romance, or are you looking for world building to be joined by a fantasy adventure, how much do you prioritize the production value and your tolerance/preference in mature content.
What level of involvement around anime what's an example of shows you prefer.
I will start by few general recommendations -not in order- with brief description;
"Violet Evergarden" anime serious following ex military female lead by the same name journey as she grabbed with the meaning of love, 12 episode and top notch production quality and friendly to any level of anime exposure, no promiscuous content, minor fight scenes and implied action.
"The promised neverland" another short series with a strong demale lead, Shonen genre and more action packed, the drama is more on the mystery side follow those kids as they attempt to escape their inevitable struggle. Very high production quality and many intriguing characters, reasonably friendly to newcomers with tolerance for 'horror' and 'implied and visible violence'
"A silent voice" a full hearted drama with implied romance, grappling with teenage emotions and emotional challenges, again very high production quality, this once its a movie within a family friendly setting.
"I want to eat your pancreas" the heart felt romance in this movie feel particularly personal to me, the girl is suffering from a pancreas illness that cap her life and with the protagonist is how they decide to spend the remainder of it, it's less familiar to viewers with lesser exposure to anime, excellent production values.
"Hyouka!" A light hearted romance in mystery and slice of life setting, an enjoyable watch and pretty visuals
"How to raise a boring girlfriend" a show that leans further toward the anime culture, a harem comedy with ecchi or mature elements and pretty visuals.
"Love is hard for Otaku" a romance anime between working adults that also lean toward the Otaku culture, decent visuals and casual drama.
Let's close at that for now
